IS INDIAN FASHION AN OVERDO.......?????.
a statement..."I HAVE NOTICED A TREND IN INDIAN FASHION TO OVERDO,TO OVER-EMBELLISH CLOTHES.FASHION DOES NOT MEAN OPULENCE.- SONIA GANDHI @nift Raibarely convocation (source "The Times of India ,Patna Times)

As being a Niftian and a Fashion design student I not fully agree with this not completely dis agree with this .A designer is the one who makes or suggest clothes according to its customers taste, viewpoint ,social status and occasion.and going through the Indian Heritage it is always been rich in textiles and brocades embroideries. what is done in our country cannot be found in any part of the world and as Indian we are all proud of it and if anyone is getting garment he/she will defiantly not go for something  simple because reports say Indian wedding are the most expensive and lavish wedding in the world . We celebrate most no of festivals. We as a part of Asia we go for maximilation do more ,we wear more .with such things keeping in mind is it fair to just wear simple clothes ??........for obvious reason a bride will not wear a western wear for   such occasions . As a designer we need to strike a balance between the work and appearance.we need not to just emphasis on  embellishment but also on textiles .As for me it is an art of depicting our rich heritage what we are a part of  our culture and creativity has no limit and so has fashion without any defined boundaries.but a harmony should be made so that the garment does not look like an antique showpiece and what is bad in showing what we are good at  the present generation of designers have taken it forward in a glorified manner they have worked on textiles and have given a new dimensions for it. but keeping it apart we will defnetly not prefer to wear it in daily wear or saying it we have different occasions and we have variety in that and thanks to Indian fashion industry we have designers who work for Indian ethnic wear as well as for the daily or western wear garments also ..and it all strucks to the occasion ......and I am proud to be a part of it.

In world of fashion styling is as considered art of modifying or revamping the look of the one. It requires a high level of creativity and a good sense of fashion and trend. With the magical creativity of styling one can do wonders in terms of looks and appearance. For example you can make an obese person look thin, a short person look tall And vice versa .
And what I personally believe that it is a field which haven’t been explored even it has a huge scope as it provides a third eye for a designer. We can give a fashion stylist name to a person who selects clothing for editorial features, print or television ad advertising campaigns, music videos, concerts performances ,and any public appearance made by celebrities ,models for the fashion show or any public figure as these people are termed as persons who carry fashion and also known as trend introducers. This is why I felt that we really need to dig into the deep thoughts so as to find out the reasons behind this unexplored area.
Stylists are person who are the part of the larger creative team assembled by the client collaborating with the fashion designer, photographer, hair stylist, and makeup artist to prepare a look for a particular style or theme for any specific project. In another term we can say that “stylist are the person who push each celebrity to make the best dressed list”. And gain a particular icon for that style for ex- prahlad kakkad give the slogan of “aaila” to Sachin Tendulkar for a soft drink ad and it became a signature style for the cricketer. A high level stylist can directly collaborate with a designer to prepare a customised garment for any celebrity who attends award shows and public appearance.
From the above conclusions that styling has a deep root or fashion but till date a considerable effort has not been made to explore this field most stylist acquire professional skill and knowledge by assisting other established artists. There are fashion colleges or institutions to give a knowledge about fashion but not even a single institution that gives professional knowledge about styling but in recent times NIFT(national institute of fashion technology) has started giving knowledge about styling in 7th semester of fashion designing course as an optional subject. But that is not enough for the better utilisation of the designing that a student learns in four years can be optimally used with the implications in styling. During the study in nift we are given four years but styling is not given that preference or a person studying just a single semester cannot avail a career in fashion styling. A student who wants to have a career in fashion styling has to go abroad in search of a better knowledge and preference coz Indian institutions are busy in producing designers not stylist.
Whenever a fashion show takes place people come to know about the designer who designed it not about the stylist that gives this unique combo and made the appearance look glam and catchy people praise the designer but the stylist name is in vogue or in unknown but the overall look is created by the stylist. The result behind this is the name is always hidden. We want know why?
Style is considered to be most important tool and can be considered as magical wand .It is a field that a a fashion professional can earn a huge without having a sewing machine a thread or without procuring any assets and that’s the biggest idea ??
For all this one should just need to have an ample amount of knowledge, an eye to colour, up to date to the current trend and forecast. And above all you can set your own style statement if you are good enough and feel confident about what are you doing. Fashion is termed as a cycle  but styling in an option that goes and goes and on……..as it can be developed from a scratch ,rugged ,to highly finished.it is  beyond the rules and boundaries as designing requires.
And the biggest problem is whenever we think of fashion only thing that ticks our mind is only designing and designers why not the stylists that gave that appearance….why?
